In the recent shooting in Virginia were in a news team was gun down live on air. It reignited an ongoing debate on guns and gun control in America. The debate seriously started when children were slaughtered at an elementary school in NewTowm Connecticut. The second amendment stated that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. But guns should be regulated at least.
‘A well regulated militia, necessary for a free state a right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed’. This is the exact wording of the 2nd amendment to the United States constitution. It has a weird wording. It is a litle bipolar because the first part is saying ‘a well regulated militia’ (military) while the last part is saying the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. Really, what I sense is the founding fathers cannot make their minds in this issue, because of the culture of violence back then.
The issue is people are dying because of a luck of gun control in America, more than thirty thousand people each year. More than any other industrialized nation on earth. If that Many people died due to terrorism, America would invade every other country in the world. I could not believe that statistic.
What Annoys me the most is America is not taking guns seriously to actually do something about it. When a shooting happen they will talk about gun control, then move on to something else. Americans are just use to it.
The solution of course is gun control that is universal background checks, making sure that criminals and the mentally ill do not get any access to guns, (closing the gun show loophole) and banning high capacity magazines, how moderate is that. That will never happen in America not until something big happens, until then we are stuck.
The proposals will not happen because of corruption, Conservatives that is (the Republican Party) is bought by the NRA and gun manufacturers. And the Democratic Party is week on issues especially gun control, after Sandy Hook were in 90 percent of American people are with them. The democrats proposed a bill and after only one filibuster they did not try it again.
Lastly, I just want to remind everybody that twenty young students and six educators died in a elementary school in Connecticut in 2012. And in America thirty thousand people die each year due to a luck of gun control. If that’s not enough for you, I don’t know what’ will happen next.
