When something like this happened, I am become completely numb about shootings like this, it’s just another shooting in america. This one is no deferent at first, Sunday morning I was checking my twitter. I saw there have been another shooting in orlando. Not again I said to my self, This is like deja vu because there is one Friday night, But as I read the twits, the news: I said to my self WOW this is unbelievable. 50 people are dead Wow, What is unsettling is who the victims are. This is in a gay club. Wow

The question always when this happen is Why? This is a hate crime, this person wants to bring fear to the gay community. His father said he hated gays kissing. This is one of the effects of radical religious believe, even if its not direct. People need to stop defending islam.

I hate when people say: Oh its there culture blah blah blah. You mean it’s there culture to kill innocent people because they do not agree with their “LIFESTYLE”. I hate this so much, this well meaning people, this are liberal progressive people. I know muslims have a bad wrap in america, but duh….

Do not get me started on the gun issue, Here we go again, America, after the Sandy Hook shootings which killed young kids, I thought the lesson had been learned. We need it, but as we all know the NRA will not be happy. What we need is what Bernie Sanders advocates for, A POLITICAL REVOLUTION. To people who say the we can not do it because gun control, Republicans do not want it, excuse me, people who identify as Republicans, I mean your run of a mill republicans want gun control.

The problem is the Democratic Party, Who does not know how to promote shit (sorry for the vulgar language). I can not believe  after Sandy Hook and 90 percent of Americans support gun control. After only one try they gave up. What the heck! If I were the democrats I would say to the electorate look at the republicans, they do not represent you, and I will start from there.

Finally, This is very sad because first this month is LGBT pride month and it should be a fun occasion but secondly this hits so close to home,  I never had spoken about this before on this blog but I am Bisexual. People need to come out because if they do it will help the send a message that we are who we and are no one can stop us.

5 Important LGBT events

Joquin Tenedora-Forte

June 9, 2016

As we all probably know this month is LGBT pride month. We are celebrating LGBT history, It is this month that we talk about what happen during the marriage inequality. we do answer where we are today if it’s not for the people who sacrifice in order for us to live our life as it is. so I am here to discuss three major events that happened in LGBT history.

  1. Stonewall uprising- Stonewall was not the first uprising of the  gay movement, it was the major one though because it was broadcast all over the america. In the early morning of June 28, 1969, there have been rioting at a gay bar own by the mafia, The police raided the bar, but gay men and women fought back, The next day the cops come again, but the LGBT people fought hard.
  1. AIDS epidemic- The AIDS epidemic is the hardest thing that happened to LGBT people particularly gay men.Because of the erasure of the gay community, by people like President Ronald Reagan who never spoken about the AIDS epidemic until the late 80’s

3.   The election and assignation of Harvey Milk- Harvey Milk is the first     openly gay state supervisor. He was a true leader. But after only a year of he was assented by former state supervisor Dan White.

4. Lawrence Vs. Texas case 2003- This is in my opinion is the most important case in LGBT history, because when you can not legalise some that is illegal to begin with. i.e. same sex marriage. It came one year before Massachusetts became the the first to legalise marriage between two people of the same gender.

5. Marriage equality -2015.,  Obergafell vs Hudges, this is the happiest case in gay history, This is the culmination of four and a half decades of fighting for recognition. Recognition of Life and Love from Stonewall onwards.

So this are five events that change the corse of a generation. What are your favourite LGBT events Tweet me @joaquinwrites. Please you may not forget them….

My message for the Bernie or Bust People

Joaquin Tenedora-Forte

June 7, 2016

You may probably know about me, I am supporting Bernie Sanders for president, I adore the guy so much, he is the only person I am routing for the presidency . I also know that it is unlikely for him to win the nomination, He need almost seventy percent of the total number of delegates, And that will never happened.

Progressives has hated Hillary Clinton because she is not too progressive enough. But do you want to give Donald Trump the presidency, really people really. Donald Trump is the kind of person who you can not trust the presidency. because you can not control him and his actions or words.

Are you going to in trust Donald Trump with the nukes. I know we all hate Clinton’s rhetoric. She is not progressive enough, Though you need to not be fooled by what Trump is saying, He is just saying it to gain votes from progressives. He is a pathological liar.

So what should progressives do come election day, If you live in a deep progressive state, like New York, New Jersey or California, If you do not want to vote for Hillary Clinton, I will never oblige you to vote for her. because it will go to her anyway. But if you are in swing states like Florida, and Ohio, I urge you to vote for her.

The Supreme Court is on the line. Ginsburg is 82,  Brayer is 76 Kennedy is 76 look at the ages. This is not a joke, if Trump wins he will put people like him in place. I want you to think about this.

Lastly, please do not give the election to Donald Trump, Let us stop him from  ever winning the White House. He is a racist who I do not ever trust with the presidency of the United States.

I want to talk to you guys on twitter @joaquinwrites

My Year end special: My top five favorite stories of the year and my person of the year

Joaquin Tenedora-Forte

December 30, 2015
5. Donald Trump entering the race for the White House- Do not get me wrong I hate this person a lot because of what he is saying. He have said some of the nastiest stuff in this election cycle, but do not get me wrong it is so much fun to watch. My favorite is when he attacked Carly Fiorina and said he would not like to see that face in the White House.

4. The Charlie Hebdo Attacks- this is not my favorite story at all but this informs how I write, before the Charlie Hebdo attacks I am really scared of speaking my mind out but after the attacks at Charlie Hebdo, I said to my self that I really need to write about the issues that I care mostly about, like equality.

3. The 2016 presidential elections specially the republican debates- this had been a weird year as far as election is concern, as i said, since Mr Trump had entered the race, America has been fixated on him but not talking about the issues at hand.

2. The Syrian Refugee Crisis- This is such a sad story that I could not even believe that I will be writing this on the blog, but it need to be talk about. The Syrian civil war have so many innocent lives taken from us. The best thing we can do is help people in need. Do not be scared of Muslim refugees. America has the most robust screening process of refugees In the world.

My favorite story of the year is Marriage equality in the USA: On 26 June of this year the United States Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision, states that marriage is a right under the 14th Amendment of the constitution. I think that it will be a stepping stone for many countries to do the same.

My person of the year will be Donald Trump

LGBT Monday: Dear Matt, a letter to Matthew Shepard

Joaquin Tenedora-Forte

December 7, 2015

In today’s post I will be writing a letter to Matthew Shepard, Matt was a University of Wyoming student who was killed by two people in a hate crime, for being gay, in 1998. He was in a coma for 4 days and eventually died. I want to write this letter to let him know, how the world change because of people like him who live their lives openly and honestly. So no further a do, here is my letter to Matt, Note: I am using left instead of died.

Dear Matt;
Hi Matt, my name is Joaquin, I was four when you left, to be honest I do not know you, but I was reading an article this year about you for my blog. I told my self I love this kid. Your story resonated with me. The world changes because of people like you, because they saw you as their young man.
Many things have change since you left, the biggest change is that America has marriage equality, a president that supports equality of all things. It is unheard of that a president will support this. People’s attitudes changes, more and more supports and accepts people for being gay. In America 63 percent of people support the freedom to marry that is a huge jump from 1998 where in just 16 percent support marriage.
The visibility of gay people In society is bigger than ever, I know that before you left you are talking to your mom about Ellen and how courageous she is., Guest what, Matt, there are a lot of shows with openly gay characters in it. People like you need to die in order for people to have a normal happy lives.
Thank you Matt, thank you for showing the world who gay people are.
Your good Friend,

Joaquin Tenedora-Forte

LGBT Monday: A letter to the LGBT people about HIV/AIDS

Joaquin Tenedora-Forte November 30, 2015
An open letter to all LGBT people on HIV AIDS

Hi guys, tomorrow will be World AIDS day, a day of remembrance for those people due to AIDS died and are still suffering till this day. People gay and straight of because their bad choices can not be free, free to live life as they wanted to.
By the way my name is Joaquin, I am 23 years old, you can say I am young but I know about this topic. When I was growing up I listen to the band Queen and frontman Freddie Mercury, Freddie died of AIDS on November 1991, I was born on December 92. I researched that the virus that killed one of my favorite singers can be prevented today.
HIV today is a manageable condition and no one should die from this. But everyday people die a senseless death because of this terrible virus. In Africa specially, in South Africa where in people have the most number of HIV Infections in the world, it is because of the government’s luck of empathy. And denying the fact that HIV causes AIDS.
HIV/AIDS is not a gift, I heard in a documentary that people do want to be infected with HIV. Why? It is still a terrible disease that kills thousands of people in the world. HIV is hard and costly. Gay people are the most vulnerable group for HIV-AIDS because of their sexual conduct.
Finally, yeah, HIV is a manageable condition in the western world. But world wide people are dying because of this sad disease. We as people should be mindful of that.
Yours truly,

Joaquin
