Today October 9, marks the birthday of my childhood idol, his name is John Lennon, he would be 75 years old today. If he was not shot and killed by Mark David Chapman, a crazy fan just outside his New York apartment. I adore John Lennon because he is not afraid to speak his mind, even if his positions are not always popular. He had been an influential and intricate part of my life for so long. (Note: this is my tribute to him not an account of his life.)
John Winston Lennon was born on 9th October 1940 in Liverpool England, to young parents Julia Stanley and Alfred Lennon. He was born in the beginning of the Second World War. John’s father Alfred was a fighter pilot during the war. When Lennon was five his father found his mother Julia cheating on him, and he wanted to take John to Australia but John did not want to come with his father. He Instead live with his aunt Mimi and his husband, who did not have a child.
As result a of his upbringing John grow to be independent. He was a very intelligent young man, but did not excel at class. because he is more interested in art, he will draw in class a lot. Although he and his mom did not see eye to eye. Julia bought John his very first guitar and thought him to play banjo chords on the guitar. The timing is good, because when a friend introduced him to his future bandmate Paul McCartney, And as they say rest is history.
John together with his second wife Yoko Ono were both opposed to the Vietnam War. He was also a big opponent of organized religion singing in his 1972 song Imagine that he imagined a world without religion and that religion, is the reason why we have all the ward. He stir a lot of controversy when he said that the Beatles is more popular than Jesus in the 1960s.
Lastly, It is unfortunate that he died so young in such a violent way. A very peaceful person, this is so unthinkable. To my hero and my inspiration, happy birthday John Lennon and you always he a part of my life. You rock!!
