Second Amendment: Hidden History

Joaquin Tenedora-Forte

June 21, 2016

Last week america had an incident, the worst mass shooting in its history and the worst terrorist attack since September 11, 2001. In Orlando Florida,  in a LGBT night club. Naturally people blame the second amendment and america’s lacks gun laws in this incident. In todays blog we are talking about the hidden history of the gun amendment also known as the second amendment.

I did not know this I just heard this on Kyle Kulinski’s show Secular Talk a radio show on the internet last week. He mention that the second amendment is use to preserve slavery. Wow. I can not get that out of my mind. Obviously I rush to the internet and research the history of this amendment, to my surprise Kyle is right.

So why is it that they put “a well regulated  militia necessary for a free state” instead of for a free country, the founders are aware of that though. (Please check out the 10th amendment) because the needed to preserve slavery to get Virginia to join the union, America needed to compromise, because Virginia is a slave state.

The line where there is the right of the people to keep and bare arms is use, to the people of the militia or slave patrol, it did not say individual. In the these states their’s slave patrol so you need guns. The slave owner wants to make sure that that there slaves are in check. Do not tell me that it says individual because it does not.

What the supreme court on the case District of Columbia vs Heller is wrong, because people do not have a right to buy guns. The justices give the gun lobby namely the NRA more power than it deserves. You have no right according to James Madison to a weapon of mass distraction.

Lastly, people died in an elementary school,  in a high school, in universities, in a movie theatre, a church, in a work place, now the latest is in a night club. Is this added to Americas great traditions.

Finally, What the heck! america. Please stop with all the shootings. Let us think of people that died, guys. To the senators who voted NO to basically stoping a shooting like this from ever happening again: YOU HAVE BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS.`

My Thoughts On The Bible

Joaquin Tenedora-Forte February 5, 2016

Over the weekend I was watching “Lincoln” an academy award winning film on the great president Abraham Lincoln, and the American Civil War. I notice that the Democratic Party who is the conservatives back then, they are arguing for slavery. Their argument is that gods law i.e. The bible, ‘ they said that this is god’s natural law, and that by arguing against the biblical law that the world Is going to end.

The problem with their argument is that the United States constitution states that the government will not support a particular religious sec. I digress, the bible is wrong about many things. Like for example, homosexuality, how come two people of the same gender can not love each other. They are not even hurting other people, this had been my biggest turn off on Christianity.

The bible is a contradicting book in the old and the New Testament alike. People should not be basing their lives in this 2000 year old holy book. It should be read with a grain of salt. Like a science book from years ago. The thing is that I do not hate the bible or Christianity, I am just pointing out the problematic things in the book.

For me you do not need a holy book to be a good, moral human being, this is not coming from me this is coming from scientists who researched this thing. People should be about look at the bible as well. I do not see the bible as a literal word from god, if it is, then the book will focus on love and not hate. The problem is the this bible is controlling people’s hearts and minds.

Lastly, I urge people to read the whole book and see how pathetic the people who read it is. The bible is written by men of course this will have some mistakes. Finally, people can twist the bible in its heads and see the results that they wanted to read.

Religion and the bible

Religion and hatred: the contradictions in the bible
Joaquin Tenedora-Forte

Imagine there’s no religion: John Lennon said in his 1971 song imagine that he will imagine a world where there is peace regardless wether or not religion is percent But as we know that sadly this song is true that religion is the reason why people hate: since the beginning of religions, the Wars, the Slavery the anti gay hatred, the source of all of this is religion.

So why do people hate, it’s based on the IN GROUP, OUT GROUP MENTALITY. Evolutionary we need to adopt, so what we do is to say that people that are lesser bad or worse. This is evident in the treatment of minority’s throughout history specially in America, where in, America has a huge history of discrimination base on the bible.
Slavery is the biggest sin in American history, especially people in the south want to retain slavery, they needed to go to war in order to abolish Slavery. The confederate army use the bible especially the Old Testament.

And if a man sells his daughter to be a female slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. If she does not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her. And if he has betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her according to the custom of daughters. If he takes another wife, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marriage rights. And if he does not do these three for her, then she shall go out free, without paying money.

—Exodus 21

In The landmark Supreme Court decision Brown vs Board of education, that segregation is unconstitutional and they should start integrating children in their schools. What does the anti-integration said like Bull Connor said its my religion. Apparently he is right the bible back segregation:

Deuteronomy XXXII

“Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the Lord’s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.” (32:79.)

In my favorite Supreme Court case ever Loving v Virginia 1967. The case centered on the right to marry for two people who are off different races. The opposition came from the bible again, it’s unnatural and wrong, but for me it’s wrong: the opposition is wrong, there is a right to love

A bastrad shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

Deuteronomy 23:2
On the biggest fight of the 21st century, the rights of homosexuals to live, get married not to get fired form their jobs. People who opposed gay rights, time and time again they use the bible to spell around hate.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus 20:13

Lastly, America is not a Christian nation, according the first amendment, according to one book on Christianity. If you are a Christian you should not use the Old Testament because, the New Testament is the culmination of the bible.
